A spacious and comfortable boarding cattery offering a safe haven for your cats while you are away

Charlie's Cattery is located in Pamber End between Basingstoke and Tadley on the main A340. We are licensed by Basingstoke & Deane Council - licence holders Miss Tracey Davis & Miss Janet Ayres, license number 19/00670/AWAAL FIVE STAR Rating. We welcome short and long term boarders from Tadley, Basingstoke, Newbury, Reading and surrounding areas. You are welcome to view the cattery prior to booking. Please contact us to arrange an appointment.

Cattery Accommodation

Our boarding cattery has been built with the comfort of your cats in mind. We have 19 chalets which can accommodate one or two cats from the same household. They are full height chalets with shelves in both the sleeping quarters and exercise areas for your cat to snooze or sun themselves on. The sleeping quarters are heated and insulated to keep them snug and warm. All chalets have opaque sneeze barriers for privacy and to prevent cross infection. Your cat will be provided with beds lined with a comfy cushion, fleecy blankets, scratching posts and toys to keep them amused. They will be regularly checked on throughout the day and made a fuss of to make sure that their stay is enjoyable.

Cattery Information

All cats entering the boarding cattery must have up to date vaccinations against Feline Flu and Enteritis. The vaccination card must be brought with you on arrival. We also request that your cat has been treated for fleas and worms prior to boarding.

All male cats over the age of 6 months must be neutered.

Each cat will have a daily chart to monitor litter tray use, feeding and any health issues that may arise. We stock a variety of wet and dry food and meals are served twice a day. If your cat prefers specific food or a prescription diet this will need to be provided.

If your cat has its own bed, basket, blanket or toys with which they are familiar with, please feel free to bring these along to make them feel more at home.

Cattery Prices

One cat - £18.50 per day

Two cats of the same family sharing - £25 per day

This price includes food, litter, heating and insurance

A full days boarding is charged for arrival and departure days. Less than 3 days boarding is permissible although there is a minimum charge for 3 days. During the Christmas period the minimum charge is equivalent to 5 days boarding. A deposit of £25 is required to secure the booking. A 50% deposit is required for bookings over the Christmas period. Payment can be made by cash or bank transfer only

Popped our cat into Charlie’s over Christmas whilst we went away as a family. Our previously used cattery has closed down so I chose Charlie’s based on the positive reviews and I’m so glad I did!
Jasper isn’t a fan of catteries and would always return rather down in his mood and his fur was often matted at the back where he didn’t wash himself, through stress.
Today, we picked him up from his first visit at Charlie’s and what a difference! He didn’t actually want to leave! It was nice and clean, all the cats looked happy and relaxed and the two ladies were lovely! His fur is lovely and shiny and he is his friendly, energetic self!
The ladies happily gave him his Christmas stocking, brushed him daily and gave him all the love and attention he could dream of! We even had a lovely email with pictures on Christmas Day that we loved! Really helped us relax, seeing that he was loving life and super relaxed!
So glad to have found Charlie’s and if I’m honest, glad I had to look for a new cattery leading me to Charlie’s!
Now we can go away knowing Jasper is safe, happy and well loved, without worrying or avoiding booking holidays.
Jasper will certainly be back for his 5 star hotel stay!

I have never used a cattery before so I was extremely anxious and I wanted to find the right one. I came across Charlie’s and was impressed by their reviews! We arranged to go and view the cattery and I knew instantly this was the place Milo, Bella and Tonks were going to. You can tell how much Tracey and Janet love cats. This reassured me straight away.

I must admit I did cry when I was dropping them off on the day but I really didn’t need to worry. Seeing how my cats responded and how welcoming Janet and Tracey were settled my mind.
Milo is anxious when it comes to people he doesn’t know but wow he settled right in! They definitely have the magic touch. My cats didn’t want to come home when we went to pick them up. They had definitely made themselves comfy.

Lovely touch with receiving photos to let me know how they were getting on whilst I was away! What I loved as well was the email when the cats returned back home to ensure they had settled back in.

I would 100% recommend Charlie’s cattery. Milo, Bella and Tonks will definitely be boarding again. I couldn’t have asked for a better first Cattery experience! 😸

We were hesitant at first, as it was the first time that we put all four of our cats into a Cattery. After meeting with the owners and seeing how much dedication that they put in , we were 100 % happy. Our cats had taken a little time to settle with being their first time, especially with Millie having Idiopathic Epilepsy. Tracey and Janet ensured that Millie had her medication and looked after Millie very well. After our cats were more settled , we were sent pics of our cats :) The time and dedication that was put in was amazing and our cats were happy and very well looked after

We could not recommend Charlie's Cattery enough!
It was our first holiday since Kai joined our family and he could not have been looked after better. Janet & Tracey provided great reassurance and kept us well informed. They take each cats individual needs into consideration and were very accomodating of Kais extremely inquisitive personality.

What a diamond find!
I needed a cattery to look after my little furbaby for an extended period of time, due to building work I was having.
I did alot of research looking for the right cattery, as the one I normally used changed management and I didn't want to use it anymore.
From initial contact, Tracey and Janet have been brilliant. They really made sure my cat settled in and adjusted treats and meals for her preferences. They sent updates and pictures of how she was doing.
I was really worried about leaving my cat in a cattery for such an extended period of time, but I was constantly reassured she was in the best care.
I won't book my cat into anywhere else now! I only use Charlie's!

Finding a cattery run by actual cat lovers can be harder than you think, so we were really pleased to find Charlie’s cattery to look after our cat while we were on holiday.
She settled in really well and was really happy and relaxed when we collected her (always a good sign). The accommodation has views of the outside, plenty of fresh air and not one but two rooms for the cats to move between with thoughtful touches like scratching posts, blankets and ladders to keep them entertained. Tracey and Janet made sure she was played with and kept well groomed while she was there. Highly recommend!
